The Kids
The Kids are a Belgian punk rock band that was formed in 1976 in Antwerp. They were one of the first punk bands in Belgium and quickly gained popularity with their high-energy live shows and raw sound. The original lineup consisted of Ludo Mariman on vocals and guitar, Danny De Haes on bass, and Jos Claes on drums.
Their debut single, "Fascist Cops", was released in 1978 and caused controversy due to its lyrics about police brutality. This led to the band being banned from playing in some venues. However, it also brought them attention from the international punk scene, and they went on to tour with bands like The Clash and Iggy Pop.
The Kids released their first album, "The Kids", in 1978, which included classic tracks like "Do You Love the Nazis?" and "This is Rock and Roll". They followed up with two more albums, "Naughty Kids" and "Living in the 20th Century", before disbanding in 1985.
Despite their relatively short career, The Kids had a huge influence on the Belgian punk scene and inspired many other bands.
