BLUE GIANT (Opaque Blue 2LP)

BLUE GIANT's soundtrack was released in 2023 and caused a furore in Japan as one of the great jazz albums of that year. The animated Japanese film is based on the popular Japanese manga about a young saxophonist who aspires to become the best jazz musician in the world. The music is by Japanese pianist-composer Hiromi, who is described as a "jazz rulebreaker". She plays the piano music for the character Yukinori Sawabe in the film. Tenor saxophonist Tomoaki Baba provides the sound for main character Dai, who gives a powerful performance in the film. With this vinyl release of BLUE GIANT, the film music is available physically for the first time.
