The album "What is Sarah Neutkens thinking?" comes from Eindhoven-based composer and pianist Sarah Neutkens (24). "There are feelings and thoughts in life that you can't put into words, they come out to me through music," says Sarah. For this double album, she wrote a composition for string quartet, which was recorded by the Alma Quartet, consisting of members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. "It was a pleasure to work with Sarah. We were given all the freedom to bring to life the music she put on paper," says Marc Daniel van Biemen, the quartet's primarius. The second part of the album consists of pieces for solo piano, which Sarah played and recorded herself. Besides the first single Hexagon, Rigel and I Saw A Crowd, it also includes an arrangement for piano of Other Echoes, a piece she previously composed as a string quartet.
