More than ten years after dedicating his debut album for Deutsche Grammophon to Mozart, Jan Lisiecki returns to the composer’s oeuvre. “It is a true privilege to immerse yourself in the genius of Mozart’s music. It is characterized by purity, elegance, emotional depth, intellectual challenge, and profound fulfillment,” says the pianist. On this album featuring Piano Concertos Nos. 9 and 22, he is accompanied by the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Manfred Honeck. “Within Mozart’s extensive collection of 27 piano concertos, these two concertos, both in E-flat major, stand out as unique masterpieces,” Lisiecki says.
