Released in 1980, Empty Glass was Pete Townshend’s second solo album. The album deals with issues that Townshend was struggling with at the time, including alcoholism, drug abuse, and deceased friends, particularly Keith Moon, the Who’s former drummer.
Let My Love Open the Door was one of Townshend’s most successful solo tracks and was a US Top Ten hit, and the album was very well received with critics calling it a Who album that never was
This black vinyl version is engineered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios using a half-speed mastering technique which produces a superior vinyl cut.
