This new edition, an expanded version of the 2016 boxed set (00028947963158) from 58 to 65 discs, comprises Pollini’s legendary recordings of Beethoven's sonatas and concertos, Chopin's études, ballades and preludes, and his exceptional interpretations of piano concertos by Mozart, Schumann, Brahms, Schoenberg, Bartók and Prokofiev. The recordings since 2016 include two albums of Chopin (Opp 55–64), two albums of Beethoven sonatas (Nos. 28–32), two made with Daniele Pollini (Schubert and Debussy), and notably the CD premiere of recordings from the 1960 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. Plus a Blu-ray video disc of the last three Beethoven Sonatas and a documentary interview Beethoven and Modernity with Pollini in conversation with Jörg Widmann. The edition is accompanied by an updated 204-page book with additional notes from longtime Pollini companion Paolo Petazzi.
