On Janine Jansen's new, long-awaited album, the top violinist brings together 12 of the world's most precious instruments. Twelve Stradivarius violins, each with its own distinctive sound and character, once owned by legendary violinists. Together with pianist Antonio Pappano, she plays pieces by a variety of composers including Elgar, Kreisler, Rachmaninov and Ravel. All pieces have been carefully selected to signify the individual qualities of the different instruments.
