Description

Paul Is Live is a live album by Paul McCartney, released in 1993. Despite its name and cover art, which featured a recreation of the iconic Abbey Road album cover with McCartney walking barefoot, the album was not actually a live recording but instead featured studio versions of some of McCartney's classic songs performed in a live style.

The album was intended as a response to rumors that McCartney had died in a car crash in 1966 and had been replaced by a lookalike. The album's title was a nod to the "Paul is dead" conspiracy theory that had circulated in the years following the supposed crash.

While the album did not feature any new material, it did include reworked versions of some of McCartney's most beloved songs, including "Band on the Run," "Live and Let Die," and "Hey Jude." The album also featured some previously unreleased tracks, such as "Biker Like an Icon" and "Off the Ground."
