Originally released in 1993, Live by Doro Pesch is a defining phase of her career. The
recordings were made during her “Angels Never Die” tour, shortly before the great and
documented changes in the lineup. With this, Live captures the final years of the documented
cinema in its original form.
DORO had already gained recognition throughout Europe in the eighties as the frontwoman of
Warlock. With albums such as Triumph and Agony (1987), which achieved gold status in
Germany, songs like “All We Are” and “Für Immer” became defining milestones of the genre,
while Warlock became one of the first German metal bands to achieve international success
in the USA.
In the early nineties, Doro established herself as a solo artist, where DORO became a defining
figure for female-fronted metal. Her success paved the way for subsequent artists and
contributed to women in rock and heavy metal becoming more visible.
After the dissolution of Warlock, DORO continued her career successfully as a solo artist and
built an international fan base. Live reflects this transitional phase, combining Warlock classics
with informal solo material and documenting the close connection between artist and audience.
Over the years, DORO collaborated with artists such as Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead), Sabina
Classen (Holy Moses), Chris Caffery (Savatage), Mille Petrozza (Kreator), Tarja Turunen and
many others. DORO has appeared at major festivals worldwide, including Wacken Open Air
in Germany, Hellfest in France, Bloodstock Open Air in the United Kingdom, and many more.
The new edition of Live will be released on July 3, 2026 as a strictly limited picture vinyl and
contains exclusive liner notes by Doro Pesch herself.
