Silverstein’s second studio album, Discovering the Waterfront, combines elements of the emo and hardcore genres with lyrical songwriting and catchy melodic hooks. This album marked a shift in sound from When Broken Is Easily Fixed, with faster-paced, more energetic songs; the band also began to incorporate more punk rock elements into their music. Released in 2005 under Victory Records, the album included classic songs such as “Smile In Your Sleep” and “My Heroine.” The album peaked at number 34 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 3 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart.
