'THE FUTURE BITES' werd opgenomen in London en co-producet door David Kosten (Bat For Lashes, Everything Everything) en Steven Wilson zelf. Het album is het sterkste werk van Steven tot nu toe. Er wordt volop geëxperimenteerd met elektronische muziek (KING GHOST), akoestische instrumenten (12 THINGS I FORGOT), groovy baslijnen (FOLLOWER) en funk (EMINENT SLEAZE).
